The Way of
Shinrin-yoku

Japan Shinrin-yoku Guide

What is Shinrin-yoku?

Shinrin-yoku, or "forest bathing," is a mindful experience of immersing yourself in nature through all five senses.
By slowly walking through the forest, we open ourselves to the sounds, scents, textures, and sights of the natural world, allowing our bodies and minds to reconnect with nature.

The Way of Shinrin-yoku

Our Shinrin-yoku programs are rooted in the spirit of Japan—reflecting the deep relationship between people and nature, and expressing a heartfelt hope for a future of living together in harmony with nature.
We call this approach “The Way of Shinrin-yoku.”

Key Elements of The Way of Shinrin-yoku:

  • Engaging all five senses to enhance mental and physical well-being.
  • Connecting with the roots, spirit, and memory of the land—shaped by the relationship between local people and the surrounding nature, and understanding the Japanese perspective on nature.
  • Imagining and co-creating the future together with the forest.

"The Way of Shinrin-yoku" cherishes the unique roots of each region and invites you to discover the distinct beauty and essence of every place.
